Deborah Englert, MD Board Certified Dermatologist

Deborah Englert, MD completed her undergraduate studies at Fairfield University in 1992 and graduated cum laude in her dual major of Biology and Nursing. Her love of patient care and passion for medicine fostered an initial career as an RN before pursuing her medical degree with A. O. A. honors at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Englert then completed an internship in Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital followed by a residency in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at The University of Rochester. Dr. Englert is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Englert is an assistant professor of Dermatology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Englert is the President of the Maryland Dermatologic Society. Since completing her residency training, she has developed expertise in medical/surgical, cosmetic and laser dermatology. She has also become a thought leader in the treatment of psoriasis.

Jennifer Z. Cooper, MD Board Certified Dermatologist
Fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery

Jennifer Z. Cooper, MD is a graduate of Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Cooper completed her Dermatology Residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. Following residency, Dr. Cooper continued at the University of Rochester for fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology under Dr. Marc Brown. Dr. Cooper has served on the faculty of the University of Rochester and the University of Maryland. She graduated medical school with AOA honors and was named Chief Resident her final year of Dermatology Residency. Dr. Cooper is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Cooper’s expertise is in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. She has special interest in the management of skin cancer in organ transplant recipients.

Christopher Englert, NP-MS Nurse Practitioner

Christopher Englert, NP-MS attended the University of Rochester for undergraduate studies, and then completed his master’s degree at the University of Buffalo. As a Nurse Practitioner, Chris has experience in emergency medicine and has specialty training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Chris has also worked as a clinical consultant with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the education/development of new medical treatments in the medical community. This diverse experience enables Chris to provide treatment for patients utilizing the most current therapies and procedures in the care of patients. Chris has spent the last several years working as a dermatology nurse practitioner in Rochester, New York. Chris specializes in the education and management of medical/surgical and cosmetic dermatology patients.

Katie Piccoli, MSN, CRNP Nurse Practitioner

Katie Piccoli, MSN, CRNP is a nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing where she received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. Prior to receiving specialized training at the University of Maryland Department of Dermatology, Katie spent many years as a medical/surgical nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the University of Maryland Medical Center. She is certified as a nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of several professional organizations including Sigma Theta Tau, the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland, and the Dermatology Nurses Association. Katie brings years of nursing experience to her practice in dermatology and as a valued member of our team provides excellence in education and management for our medical and cosmetic dermatology patients.

Meghan A. Berger, PA-C

Meghan Berger, MPAS, PA-C completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Zoology. During her undergraduate career, Meghan worked at Johns Hopkins in a Melanoma research lab, as well as a clinical assistant at the Johns Hopkins Out Patient dermatology clinic. It was there where Meghan discovered her passion for patient care, as well as for dermatology. She then received her masters degree in Physician Assistant studies from Towson University/CCBC Essex in 2008. During her schooling, she rotated through many medical rotations, including internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine. She also spent two rotations specializing in dermatology, and focused her master's thesis on melanoma. Meghan is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensed by the Maryland State Board of Physicians. She also is a member of such organizations of Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society of Dermtological Physician Assistants. Meghan is licensed and qualified to perform comprehensive dermatological exams, to perform procedures as punch biopsies, shave biopsies, cryotherapy, laser treatments and similar procedures, as well as diagnose, treat, and prescribe appropriate medical therapies. Meghan is dedicated to provide ethical and thorough care of the highest quality to all of her patients.

Mauricio R. Manuel, Jr., BSN, PA-C

Mauricio R. Manuel, Jr., BSN, PA-C completed undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland At Baltimore with a degree in Nursing and completed his Physician Assistant studies at Anne Arundel's Physician Assistant program in 1998. He is an active member of the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants. Mauricio is qualified to diagnose and treat a variety of dermatologic conditions as well as perform shave and punch biopsies.
